From 2023, Te Takanga o Te Wā and Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories will be part of all kura and schools’ marau ā-kura and local curriculum.

We have curated and created resources to support kaiako
and developed integrated learning experiences for ākonga.

These resources are based on MOE guidance, teacher feedback and experience alongside researching a range of sources publicly available. We acknowledge that history comes with perspectives, bias and is nuanced.
Part of this curriculum is about teaching our ākonga to develop critical literacy skills when looking at evidence from the past.

Where possible we have referenced or acknowledged sources so this can be part of the learning conversation.
